Holden Caulfield
Kaleidoscope of life
Just a child's toy
Share a glimpse
With an aging boy
Vibrant shapes and light
Enhancing details there
If correctly magnified
He doesn't really care
Repeating squares and lines
But the pattern is unique
Looking here and searching
Not sure of what he seeks
But no one can see straight
Through kaleidoscopes
Break distorted glass;
Create a telescope
You try to mask the changes
And control what you can not
But that toy rearranges
In a way that you should not
Your life is a delusion
Details through illusion
Bring you to conclusion
That the toy is all you've got
Childhood is all you've got
But it's not

Coping with Culpability
Coping with Culpability
My hands are always cold and wet
I wonder why
They're never dry
I held them over fire and yet
They did not broil
Nor burn nor fry
There are certain thirsts
That can't be quenched
And certain winds
That can't be stilled
There are certain bolts
You can not wrench
And certain guilts you can not kill
Certain shames will never die
And this regret is rooted still

A Promise
No need to hide
Beautiful girl
No need to curtain
Honest emotion
You can have pride
Beautiful girl
No need to abolish
What makes you uncertain
I'll love you forever
Whoever you love
Whoever inspires your smiles and your sighs
Whoever comforts your fears and your tears
Whoever you want to have there and nearby
For love is an instinct
And love is a passion
Love is a luxury
And shouldn't be rationed
Shouldn't be told to be only to hold between
Certain normality
Certain majority
Don't hold back your dreams
Don't let love be crippled
I'm writing a promise
To stand and arise
A promise I'm writing in purple
:iconvintagemusicbox:vintagemusicbox 4 7
The Majesty of Sunrise
The majesty of sunrise
Blackened edges disappear
Fade to purple skies
Fade the nightly fear
The clouds were there in nighttime
And love must hide
And hate reside
But the sun has come
And now true love
Rises in a royal sky
The secrecy of dusk-hour
Predators hunt to kill
Crushing un-bloomed flow'rs
Treading onward still
The stars were there in nighttime
And beckoned day
To come display
That love can come
Oh all true love
Rise with a brilliant sky

United States
I like cupcakes. I like lolita fashion. I like to sing and write poetry and swing on bench swings and drink coffee and play with dolls.
I like cute things.
I'm very emotional and easily become obsessed.
Current obsessions are multiple: dolls, eyepatches, blood.
I play (badly) some violin.
I like to read.
A lot.
No specific genres, just whatever is good. Non-fiction, fiction, poetry, fantasy, mystery, realistic, autobiographies, magazines (I'm a real nerd; I like Psychology Today and Discover and other sciencey magazines like that)The only thing I consciously stay away from is political memoirs. All the ones I've read so far seem like propaganda...
What don't I like? A lot of things. I think I'll concentrate this little spiel on just what I like, and not what I hate, but I'll say some things I dislike;
Spicy food
Large groups of people
Twangy hillbilly country music (other country music is okay)
Seeing roadkill (okay; that's something I HATE)
Killing insects (Another things I hate actually. Go outside Mr. Spider! Go outside or my dad will flush you down the toilet. GO OUTSIDE!)
Losing things (Actually something I definitely hate. I suppose this has turned into a hate-list)
This has turned into somewhat of a rant that probably no one will read, but thanks for visiting my page and I assure you that from looking through my favorites page you will discover a lot of talented artists.

I realized that my rant centers upon a lot of the negative so....
more things I like!
Sleep (well... that's just 'cause I'm tired right now)

What a cute tea-pot! (Of course I'm imagining that coffee is brewing within)

Current Residence: Winter
Favourite genre of music: Jazz, oldies, some modern rock, (lots more that I like, but I usually listen to this)
MP3 player of choice: Zune at the moment (Hopefully KK will share hint hint)
Skin of choice: Seeing as I'm not Ed Gein I don't particularily have a preference
Favourite cartoon character: Currently? Sanrio's cinnamoroll
Personal Quote: Sure enough, sweet surprise. Five points from sliced seeds. Growing little star in a white night sky
Two lovely poems by the American master

Fireflies in the Garden

Here come real stars to fill the upper skies,
And here on earth come emulating flies,
That though they never equal stars in size,
(And they were never really stars at heart)
Achieve at times a very star-like start.
Only, of course, they can't sustain the part.

I especially loved the opening line. "real stars" such a comparison.

After Apple Picking

My long two-pointed ladder's sticking through a tree
Toward heaven still,
And there's a barrel that I didn't fill
Beside it, and there may be two or three
Apples I didn't pick upon some bough.
But I am done with apple-picking now.
Essence of winter sleep is on the night,
The scent of apples: I am drowsing off.
I cannot rub the strangeness from my sight
I got from looking through a pane of glass
I skimmed this morning from the drinking trough
And held against the world of hoary grass.
It melted, and I let it fall and break.
But I was well
Upon my way to sleep before it fell,
And I could tell
What form my dreaming was about to take.
Magnified apples appear and disappear,
Stem end and blossom end,
And every fleck of russet showing clear.
My instep arch not only keeps the ache,
It keeps the pressure of a ladder-round.
I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.
And I keep hearing from the cellar bin
The rumbling sound
Of load on load of apples coming in.
For I have had too much
Of apple-picking: I am overtired
Of the great harvest I myself desired.
There were ten thousand thousand fruit to touch,
Cherish in hand, lift down, and not let fall.
For all
That struck the earth,
No matter if not bruised or spiked with stubble,
Went surely to the cider-apple heap
As of no worth.
One can see what will trouble
This sleep of mine, whatever sleep it is.
Were he not gone,
The woodchuck could say whether it's like his
Long sleep, as I describe its coming on,
Or just some human sleep.

Makes me wanna go apple picking. ^ - ^
